Product Design

Laser cutters are ideal for the wide scope of designs and materials. At AS level the 3D printer replicates industry.
The image transfer system can apply realistic decoration to almost any material.

Resistant Materials, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Graphic Products

Laser cutters cut "thick" plastics with ease and are extremely quick. 3D routers are useful for thicker wood based projects and give true 3D capability. The image transfer system can apply realistic decoration to almost any material. CAM technology is ideal for producing 3D artifacts & products for Graphic Products projects.

Textile technology

A laser is ideal to cut shapes & holes in textiles and leather. A 3D router will produce 3D buttons & the 3D printer complex buttons, clasps & adornments. Use the image transfer system for decoration and producing realistic labels.

Electronic products, Systems & control

With its floating head the Wizard is ideal for machining PCB's, housings & moving parts. A laser can produce masks for chemical etching & project housings. The 3D printer produces complex housings. Use image transfer for decals.

Food Technology,
Catering

Use a laser to decorate food; manufacture tableware, food packaging and simple moulds. A 3D router will produce more complex moulds. The 3D printer will produce complex table decorations and realistic models of foods. Us the image transfer to produce realistic menus and decoration on packaging.

Which System will best suite my needs?

Laser cutter, 3D router or RP? Click here for comparison table. Once we have narrowed your choices a demonstration from one of our countrywide representatives or at our NE (Tyneside) or SE (Surrey) offices will help you make an informed decision.
All CAM machines include safety switched covers and/or doors allowing pupils to gain valuable first hand experience of modern manufacturing methods and machines.

SureCAM and laser cutters are 100% compatible with Techsoft (TM) 2Ddesign, no need to purchase and become skilled in another software package and if you have a 3D router or Mill you can keep the same strategy for colors and cutting processes.

Laser Cutters

Laser cutters have transformed the use of CAD/CAM in the classroom. The print and cut interface is well understood by pupils and staff alike and coupled with high-speed manufacture and high quality output students are able to complete their coursework in a fraction of time other CAM machines take.
Although mostly used for 2D cutting and engraving text or graphics 3D effects are possible. Co2 lasers can cut or mark organic materials and offer true cross curriculum use.

3D Routers

3D routers offer the most versatility being 2D and 3D capable. Utilizing components from our industrial machine tool range fast cutting rates are possible across a wide range of materials, the use of a routing spindle allows different cutter types to be utilized meaning traditional joints can be produced.

3D Rapid Prototyping

3DRP. If you can draw it in 3D you can manufacture it on the range of ZCorporation 3D Printers. 3DRP allows realistic and true to life casings and products to be produced without the usual constraints of manufacture.
The ZCorporation systems have the shortest manufacture times (5 - 10 times faster than competitors) coupled with the lowest per part cost (approx £1 for a solid 25mm cube). Extremely complex designs can be manufactured and parts post processed to give different characteristics, i.e. machinable using ZMax epoxy, rubberized to make couplings, hoses of moulds or simply water fixed for speed.
